Being the first born can be tough in a family, but try adding the wolf element to the mix. Brick was born into the mentality of the pack and the MC. All his life he was taught about the bonds, the brotherhood, what would come in this path that his father richly spoke to himself and his little brother about. Being the first born it was expected for him to fulfill this legacy which he never had a problem accepting. Things were good for him. He was quarterback of his high school's team and had a academic scholarship to Aspen University waiting on him along with a very special girl, Amanda, that he was making future plans with just like all teenage couples do before graduation. His father was proud along with his mother and brother of his accomplishments. Then the worst happened...
When he turned 18 his father gifted him with his first motorcycle. It was his time to come into the pack and be with the rest of them. Naturally, Brick took up his father's offer and one night was speaking the oath that everyone upheld. He knew the change was coming and that night with that bite he became wolf. Excited of his new status, he rode his bike over to Amanda's place and coaxed her into coming out with him. Few minutes into the drive it started to rain. Trying to find them a dry place, he made a quick right-on-red turn and was sideswiped by a SUV going about sixty. Next thing he knew he was waking up on the asphalt. Broken and bleeding he searched around him for where Amanda was. Finding her, he drug himself over to her location and scooped her into his arms the best he could. She was beyond help at this point. Whispering reassuring words to her, she finally just kissed him gently and whispered a final I love you before dying right there in his arms. He remained holding her until the paramedics came to seperate them both, placing him in a ambulance and headed to Denver Hospital. There in his room, he made the decision to leave and go to Aspen to try and escape the grief of losing her. Explaining things to his father, he had his blessing and after graduation he left for Aspen.
College was different for him than most that went. Sure he studied hard, finding himself falling for the thought of becoming a lawyer though his scholarship only covered his Pre-Law Bachelors degree. While applying to various law schools, he was approached by a Marine Recruiter who explained to him that if he gave to his country that he'd be paid back by being able to achieve his goal. Hearing this and knowing that military life had been in his blood, he joined and after boot attended Officer Candidate School. From there he became a Military Police Officer assigned to take charge over the other MPs. Serving this for eight years, the First Lieutenant decided it was time to go back to civilian life and was discharged with honor. To him, it was time to go to the home he missed and the memories that surrounded the place.
Coming back, he was excited but then sad to hear about the grief that his little brother had to go through in his own life when it came to his wife and children. Meeting back up, he swore to himself that again and like from childhood that he'd be his brother's keeper once again along with being back inside the brotherhood. With the knowledge and experience gained from both college and the Marine Corp, he decided that opening his own business would be beneficial around the area. This is where A Better Bail Bonds came into play. Becoming a bail bondsman, he knew that if something were to happen to one of the pack members he'd immediately get to them and help in that legal fashion the best he could. As for his personal life, there will never be another one like Amanda and he knew this, though her memory remains embedded in his heart. Life, however, must go on and so should he.
